As the year comes to a close, we think about what we are thankful for. But we also think about the future like fitness goals we’ll work for until March and improvements we want to make around the house. Luckily, we’re here to help you with the second (because I give up my fitness goals in February) by compiling a list of possible flooring trends in 2023.

1. Natural Materials

We all know the natural trend has been popular for a while, but it looks like the trend continues. If you are interested in staying as natural as possible, some flooring options that work well in the wild Georgia climate are White Oak, Maple, and Brazilian Cherry.
Not only can you feel good about using earthy materials, but these natural woods can help enhance the look of any room, big or small. These woods also tend to be very durable which makes them great for any area of the house.

2. Colorful Finishes

While natural colors will always be in style, brighter colors are becoming more popular. Is it a coincidence that maximalism is also making a comeback? When we say brighter colors, we don’t mean fluorescent orange and green. We mean deep red, ebony black, and orange browns.
Using a colorful finish can add personality to your home whether it’s new or you’re doing a remodel after fifteen years. If you are unsure what color you might be interested in, Mr. Hardwood’s expert installers can lay down different samples for you to choose from, on your actual floor.

3. Hardwood Floor Finishes

When your floors are refinished, the polyurethane you choose will determine the final sheen of your floors. Your options include Gloss, Semi-gloss, Satin, and Matte. In the next year, the latter two, Satin and Matte, will be the popular choices among homeowners due to their low gloss and easy maintenance.

These aren’t all of the predicted trends of 2023, but they’re a good place to start if you are someone who likes to stay up-to-date on them. Our flooring experts at Mr. Hardwood are here to answer any questions you may have!
